This is the project that got me the job at Lyft. I was initially brought in to do some fairly pedestrian updates to some educational videos. It took way less time than expected and instead of doing what other clients had done in the past and just cutting my booking short, then VP of Creative Jesse McMillian asked me to "knock out a PAX ad. we always need those!" I assumed he meant The Penny Arcade Expo.
I concocted this short spot about hungry dudes playing video games who shoot a giant taco a la Contra. It was well received and I got a lot of alcaldes and was ultimately offered a job for my "insane left field idea". It wasn't until 6 months later, when asked to do another round of PAX ads (this would become GAME DAY) that I learned PAX was military shorthand for "Passanger". Upon hearing this Jesse vowed to always brief me wrong.
